TrackStick II – Track Your Ultralight Backpack

The TrackStick II is a personal GPS data logging and tracking device. The company website suggests you “Find a good camping spot and leave it to TrackStick to remember where it is and the path you took to get there.” Apparently you dowload the data into Google 3D on a Windows PC only (sorry Mac users). Trackstick runs on two AAA batteries and although I didn’t see its weight, it appears about the size of a “thumb drive” for data back up. At Amazon you can get them from $130 to $189. A bit pricey unless you are a gearhead/techie who loves having all such devices along with you on the trail. Great for off-trail.

Be light. Be safe. Be one with the pack.

  1. My name is Jordan Staples. I am a lover of the outdoors and have been most of my life; growing up going on scout campouts and hikes in the Cascades while growing up just outside Seattle, and now being a student in Northern Utah enjoying everything in the region. Just got back last weekend from a trip through southern utah, hiking the red rock; truely incredible!

A buddy and I wanted to share our love for the outdoors with people around the world, so we started a company called “Green Armadillo.” We haven’t been operating for too long, but have seen some cool growth as we’ve added a couple products here and there. Our main product is our ultra light parachute nylon hammock. If you have backpack-hammocked, you know what a blast it is. It helps erase the impact on the environment and is so versatile. It’s a true treat being able to share the joys of ultra-light backpacking through hammocking with so many other people. We are trying to make as many people as we can aware of the joy of replacing your tent with a backpacking hammock and really enjoying the outdoors to the fullest!

If you could in any way check out our website http://www.greenarmadillogear.com and put a plug in your blog or site about it, or give any advice, or product ideas, etc. we would really appreciate it. We’ll even send out one of our hammocks so you can test it out; just let us know! Any help you can give, would be really appreciated! “Gear up and GO!”
