Hi Jason,

This is actually called the Diablo Trail. It is 31 miles long. I am doing some more research to get the contact information. They don't make it easy to make a reservation, but its worth the effort.

Hi. Where can I find info on the backpacking trail? I don't see anything on the park website about backpacking? Or is the trail something you patch together based on the hiking trails?
Thanks!

The folks at Mt. Diablo for some reason seem to want to keep the 28-mile trail a secret. When you discover it and try to park in the Morgan Territory preserve parking lot, the superintendent gets quit upset if you don't get prior approval. Something about the parking lot not being safe and since it is locked from dusk to dawn, they want to know who is staying there. It's a good trip, but don't take it in summer. Too hot.

I wasn't aware there was any backpacking allowed at Mount Diablo. Did you go to the backpack camp at the Morgan Territory preserve?
